Ranveer Singh To Play Indian Superhero Nagraj In Karan Johar’s Next?
Ranveer Singh is apparently in talks to play superhero Nagraj from the famous Raj Comics. If all goes well, the actor will portray the role of much-loved Indian superhero in Karan Johar’s next. The project is in initial stages of development and the makers are hoping for a 2022 release.
Ranveer Singh is apparently in talks to play Indian superhero Nagraj of Raj Comics. This comic book was hugely popular in 1908s. Already riding high on his successful career, the actor has been giving consecutive hits from past few years. The concept is ideated by owner Rajkumar Gupta and his two sons Manoj Gupta and Sanjay Gupta. Nagraj was one of the most famous characters of Raj Comics Nagraj and Ranveer Singh seems to be the apt choice for this powerful and fun character. As the project is in initial stages and development the makers are hoping for a 2022 release. The film will be helmed by Karan Johar.
Nagraj, which means Snake King, was first created in the late 1980s by Sanjay Gupta and published by Raj Comics. The fictional superhero was penned by Prashuram Sharma and illustrated by Pratap Mullik. Later, it was drawn by Sanjay Ashtputre, Chandu and Anupam Sinha. The comic series has enjoyed avid fan following and now makers are happy to see their loved comic series taking film’s series. Manoj Gupta president of publisher Raj Comics told PTI, “We are in talks with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar for a live-action silver-screen adaptation of Nagraj. While nothing is inked so far, things are looking positive. When we created Nagraj we never imagined that it would attract such a wide fan following across India and we all are happy that finally, a Nagraj movie is taking shape. Everyone is extremely enthusiastic about the idea of making a Nagraj feature film. While other superhero films have been made in Bollywood before, this will be the first live-action adaptation of an Indian comic book superhero.”
They lastly added that they are in talks to create a Banke Lal animated show for kids with a leading animation studio and a high-end 3D Nagraj animated film. They are also discussing live-action web-series with various producers.
